Black Koi Water Features
Service to Systems
Office, Services & Marketing Coordinator · Operations Analytics · SEO · Internal Tooling · Job-Costing
At Black Koi Water Features, a pond and waterfall builder serving western North Carolina and upstate South Carolina, I grew from customer service into marketing and then into building the company's operations and data infrastructure. It is my strongest scaled proof point: the same translation work applied to a live, growing business over time.

Overview
Black Koi designs, builds, and maintains water feature ponds and waterfalls out of Fletcher, NC. As Office, Services and Marketing Coordinator, my role widened over time: it started at the front line with customers, moved into marketing, and grew into the operational and analytical backbone the business runs on.
The Arc
- Customer service: handling the front line, learning the business and its customers from the inside
- Marketing: SEO, content, and campaign work to grow visibility and leads
- Operations and data: the reporting, dashboards, and internal tools that turn day-to-day activity into decisions
Business & Operations Analytics
- Search Console and Analytics reporting built around what the business actually needs to see
- Keyword dashboards to track and steer search performance
- Internal apps and tooling to streamline office and service workflows
- Job-costing analytics to understand the real economics of the work
Marketing
On the marketing side, the work spans on-site SEO, search research and strategy, and campaign execution, including print and direct mail, aimed at steady, qualified lead flow rather than vanity reach.
System Design
Underneath both is systems work: designing the structures, reports, and tools so the business runs on something durable rather than tribal knowledge, and so the people using them can actually keep them going.
Writing
